Bee Inspired

Bees are an important part in every ecosystem.

Wingspread has four beehives on property with bees that pollinate various types of plants.  Our bees gather from the wild flowers in the prairies, our vegetable and herb gardens, and fruit tree in the orchard. We utilize this delightful Prairie Honey throughout our menu – from desserts to salad dressings – and know you’ll enjoy the fresh taste of one of nature’s essential processes!

Be The Difference

At Wingspread, our sustainability efforts are demonstrated in our programming and convening as well as our daily environmental practices. We make meaningful differences through all of our sustainable efforts on property.  The Sam and Gene Johnson Guest House proudly holds a Green Seal Gold Certification for sustainable practices. The building is also LEED certified Gold honoring sustainable design, construction, and operation.  The multiple solar panels provide a source of renewable energy.  Our geothermal system is a ground source for heating and cooling using the Earth’s surface to regulate temperature.
